Horseshoe Bottom Presbyterian Church and Cemetery (not to be confused with the nearby Horseshoe Bottom Baptist Church and Cemetery) was the predecessor to the First Presbyterian Church, Monongahela.
Horseshoe Bottom Presbyterian Church
The church was located 2 1/2 miles outside of The City of Monongahela on Coyle Curtain Road in Carroll Township on a farm owned by Simon Wilson. The church building was demolished but the adjoining church cemetery still exists and is one of the oldest in the Monongahela area. The site of the church building is marked by an approximately 6' high stone memorial to which a bronze tablet is attached that reads:
Presbyterian Church founded here in 1785, Organization transferred to Monongahela City in 1807 and the church is
now known as the First Presbyterian Church of Monongahela City. This Memorial erected 1935
