Biographical Sketch of Mary L. Hickman
This biographical sketch will help us contextualize Mary's diary entries, hopefully filling in the gaps and bringing the diary to life for modern readers. Most of the genealogical information is from Find-a-Grave.com entries, which have proven extremely helpful but could be better. I've found several errors (such as not listing William Stanley Hickman as Samuel and (most likely) Mary's son.
This biographical sketch will evolve over time as errors are corrected and updates are made.

David Lecky's Obituary at the Monongahela Daily Republican
Mother - possibly Elizabeth Jane Warner Lecky, 1825-1913.
However, Elizabeth is not named in David's obituary as his wife. Were David and Elizabeth estranged at this time? Elizabeth's children on her Find-A-Grave memorial page are listed as Florence, Jesse, and Letitia, with no mention of Mary. Was Elizabeth David's second wife? Was Mary a child from a previous marriage?
